PIA to operate extra flights for UK migrants

 RAWALPINDI: Following the United Kingdom's move to place Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kenya and the Philippines on a "red list" barring the entry of people from these countries unless they are British or Irish, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to operate additional airlines for thousands of migrants living in Pakistan.

PIA spokesman Abdullah Hafeez Khan said the national flag bearer had decided to use more flights before the April 9. deadline. He said as a result of the UK government's move, foreign airlines have started charging up to Rs400,000 per passenger. A spokesman said the PIA had decided to increase the number of flights before April 9. Five PIA flights will now depart for the UK from April 4 to 9.
